Missouri Stock Horse Association
|
- Support and promotion of the broke all-around horse. Events & contests will test the stock horse skill level in a ranch-style
environment, not an artificial show arena.
- Events & contests will reward the ability of the rider to communicate effectively with the working horse in an educated manner
- Clinics and practices will be offered to aid in improving horsemanship skills and assist the rider in enhancing his horse's strengths
as well as understanding & minimising the horse's shortcomings
- Cattle classes will be the foundation of this organization. The primary difference between this and other ranch-style associations will
be number and variety of working cattle classes..
- Show events & clinics will be made as affordable as possible.
- Contests and events will be structured so that each is completed in one day. Whenever possible a clinic will be conducted the
evening before a show.
What MoSHA can offer in the future
|
What MoSHA will offer in 2012
|
Cattle clinics & practices are scheduled on the following Sundays:
April 15th---May 6th---June 10th---July 8th---August 12th
- We're going to work on cattle events in 2012. We want to know how to read & influence
cattle and we want our horses to develop their cow sense too. So we're going to
concentrate solely on cattle clinics in 2012.
- MoSHA encourages members to join Missouri Team Sorting Association (MoTSA) and
attend their Novice Draw & #2(Beginner) Classes on Saturday afternoon. (These classes
are offered at reduced fees.) Missouri Stock Horse members can Sort together in the #2
class or watch & discuss. Then, stay over Saturday night. Hook-ups and stalls are
available or a "country motel" is nearby. Sunday morning you're right there and ready to
attend the Cattle Clinic, and work on mistakes you saw (or made) the day before.
All cattle clinics and classes are sponsored in part by Flash
Bar Farm, located in Bay, Missouri. Cattle clinics & MoSHA
shows will take place in their covered arena using domestic
cattle. Overnight stalls & hook-ups available. For more
information contact fbarf111@gmail.com
Flash Bar Farm is located just five miles from the intersection of Hwys 50 and 19, near Hermann Missouri. Drive 5.5 miles west on Hwy 50. Flash Bar Farm's gravel road is on north side of Hwy 50 and the arena can be seen from the highway.
